Manchin to Join Inaugural Motorcycle Ride for Fallen Service Heroes

Event to honor the WV National Guard Foundation and the families of fallen service members

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) will serve as the Special Guest Road Captain for the 2015 Ride for Fallen Service Heroes on Flag Day, Sunday, June 14. This inaugural ride is sponsored by the Harley Owners Group (HOG) Capitol City WV Chapter #5439 and benefits the West Virginia National Guard Foundation and the families of fallen West Virginia service members.

“Like all West Virginians, I feel a special surge of emotion every time I see the American flag,” Senator Manchin said. “I am so eager to participate in this ride to honor our West Virginia National Guard and the families of fallen service members. Every day, schoolchildren, Scouts, Veterans – in fact, Americans all across this great land – pledge their allegiance to the Stars and Stripes. But one day a year, we pay special honor to our flag. This year, I am excited to celebrate Flag Day while honoring our nation’s heroes with this special ride.”
