WV Strong: Bramwell Police Department

Mercer County

Today’s Better Angels are our law enforcement friends in Bramwell who have teamed up with Community Connections Inc. to deliver donated items like bike helmets, snacks and books. Chief Butch Worley and Corporal Justin Dunford have been making and distributing snack bags and delivering them to the homes of children [while maintaining appropriate social distance] in some of the most remote parts of Mercer County – including Bramwell, Montcalm, Rock, Lashmeet, and Matoaka.

Recently, the officers delivered over 75 bike helmets to kids throughout the area so they can enjoy the great outdoors this summer on their bikes.

Additionally, the officers are delivering “Gracie’s Guide” books (written by local author Angie Wilson) and crayons, which include child-appropriate topics on staying positive, bike safety, and the dangers of substance abuse.

Thank you to Kathryn Kandas of Community Connections, Inc. in Princeton for sharing this story with me.
