Manchin gets new site, seeks public’s advice | Parkersburg News and Sentinel

PARKERSBURG - West Virginians can send their ideas to cut the deficit to the new website for U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va.

Manchin on Thursday announced the new site, manchin.senate.gov, that features the New River Gorge Bridge and a form where those ideas can be forwarded to the senator.

"I truly believe in retail government helping people connect with their government and providing the best possible service. That's because this is your government, and your voices should be heard," Manchin said.

The senator said he retooled the website in anticipation of the Senate and House super committee studying the federal debt making its recommendations for cuts.

Manchin said the new website has better ways to communicate ideas, get help and learn about his agenda to create jobs, restore fiscal accountability, achieve energy independence and keep promises to seniors and veterans.

"I hope my new site serves as a place where the people of West Virginia can find daily updates about the issues that matter most," Manchin said. "And no website would be complete without a taste of what makes West Virginia the greatest state in this nation, so I encourage people to use my site to learn more about visiting our great state."
