Manchin Wishes West Virginians a Happy Thanksgiving

***Audio, Video Available***

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) today released the following statement wishing West Virginians a happy Thanksgiving:

“This week, we will come together with our families, our friends and our communities to give thanks for all of our many blessings. I know that for many West Virginians, like Americans all over the country, this year has brought many new challenges and hardships – especially as so many families are struggling to make ends meet. But I truly believe we are all blessed to live in a country with the greatest liberties and freedoms in the world.

“We wouldn’t be able to enjoy our precious freedoms without the brave men and women who are overseas this holiday season, keeping this great country safe by giving up their own family gatherings for the rest of us. They will always have my deep gratitude, and I hope that you remember our veterans, servicemembers and their families this year and every year.

“And as you and your family gather this Thanksgiving to count all of your blessings, remember that you can also share your blessings. I hope that you will take time to reflect on all the things that you are thankful for this Thanksgiving. Indeed, Gayle and I are so thankful for our loving family and friends, and the honor of serving you and the great state of West Virginia.

“May God bless you, God bless the great state of West Virginia and may God continue to bless America.”
