Manchin Announces Nearly $12 Million for Broadband Development in West Virginia

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) today announced $11,997,199 in support from Connect America Fund Phase II. This funding will allow three West Virginia service providers to buildout broadband services over the course of 10 years at 7,962 locations throughout West Virginia.

“As a lifelong West Virginian and proud public servant who travels our great state corner to corner every year, I have driven nearly every mile of road in our state and experienced first-hand the loss of broadband coverage in community after community along the way. This investment in our broadband infrastructure is desperately needed and a welcomed addition to our ongoing efforts to connect the entire Mountain State. Our goal is that children in every county can do homework from home and every small business owner can promote their products to the globe. I won’t stop fighting until this is the reality in every part of our state,” Senator Manchin said.
