Manchin Applauds the Appointment of Dr. Michael Brumage to Lead the WV DHHR Drug Control Policy Office

Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) applauded the appointment of Dr. Michael Brumage to lead the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources Drug Control Policy office.

“Our state is the epicenter of the opioid epidemic and is constantly trying new and innovative ways to prevent drug overdoses, get those suffering from substance use disorder into treatment and prevent drugs from getting on the streets. The Drug Control Policy office will streamline our state’s efforts to stop this epidemic in its tracks. I applaud the appointment of Dr. Brumage to lead this office. He is the perfect choice to lead this new office and help our state fight the opioid epidemic in a comprehensive way. I look forward to continuing to work with Governor Justice and with Dr. Brumage to do everything we can to stop this deadly epidemic.”
