Manchin, Capito Announce $8.3 Million for West Virginia Health Centers

Charleston, WV – U.S. Senators Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV), members of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced $8,351,631 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for five health centers across West Virginia.

West Virginia health centers provide quality care for their fellow West Virginians, especially as the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic places further strains on providers. In order to provide this care, health centers need adequate funding to keep their doors open, hire staff and make services affordable, which is why I am pleased HHS is investing more than $8.3 million in five health centers across the Mountain State,” said Senator Manchin. “I will continue to fight for funding to support our health centers and ensure every West Virginian has access to quality, affordable healthcare, regardless of where they live.”

“Our health centers in West Virginia provide important services for our communities,” Senator Capito said. “Providing the resources these facilities need is a crucial component to maintaining operations and helps our health professions do their jobs safely and efficiently. Our health centers and their staff have been on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic, and I’ll continue to advocate on behalf of the support they need.”
