Manchin Delivers Remarks at 96th Annual WV American Legion State Convention in Huntington

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) today attended the 96th Annual West Virginia American Legion State Convention in Huntington and delivered remarks to a group of approximately 200 veterans and supporters. Senator Manchin congratulated the American Legion Department of West Virginia for 96 years of service to our state, our nation and our veterans.

“The American Legion is a powerful advocate for those who have served and its dedication to mentoring youth, sponsoring support programs and advocating patriotism within our great state is extremely admirable and should be recognized every day. The West Virginia American Legion has raised millions of dollars in donations locally and nationwide in order to provide support to military families. I applaud the members of the American Legion for their tireless efforts in assisting our veterans and their families. Each individual performs an important task and your efforts do not go unnoticed. I also thank our veterans for their unwavering commitment and steadfast dedication toward protecting our great nation. It is because of them that we continue to live with freedom, equality and opportunity for all.”
