Manchin Introduces Bipartisan National Women in Agriculture Day Resolution

Washington, DC – U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) introduced a bipartisan resolution to designate March 23rd, 2023 as National Women in Agriculture Day to recognize the critical contributions of West Virginian and American women in the agriculture industry.

“West Virginia’s farmers, ranchers and livestock producers play a critical role in our state’s economy and provide nutritious food for their communities, and women have always had an essential role in the industry,” said Senator Manchin. “More and more women across our great state are entering the agriculture field, and I join all West Virginians in thanking them for their vital efforts. I’m proud to introduce this bipartisan resolution to recognize and celebrate the women in West Virginia and across the country who are critical to supporting agriculture businesses, operations and education.”

Senator Manchin was joined by Senators Joni Ernst (R-IA), Tina Smith (D-MN) and 56 additional bipartisan Senators.
