Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) today received the Constituent Service Award from National Write Your Congressman, a non-partisan organization that encourages constituents to communicate with their elected representatives. National Write Your Congressman works with small businesses in all 50 states, providing legislative updates and urging constituents to reach out to their Senators and Members of Congress on issues of importance.

“I have always believed in the commonsense philosophy of retail government – truly listening to and taking care of the people you serve,” Senator Manchin said. “My constituents elected me to be their voice in Washington, to listen to their priorities, their concerns, and their ideas. That is why I return home to West Virginia every chance I get, to work with the people who elected me and hear their commonsense perspectives. I encourage all West Virginians to reach out to me as often as possible, and I assure them that I will listen to what they have to tell me.”

For more than 50 years, the National Write Your Congressman organization has been encouraging Americans to communicate with Members of Congress and to take an active role in the political process.
