Manchin Statement On Celebrating Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Joe Manchin today released the following statement on celebrating Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

“Today we celebrate and remember the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., one of the most important figures in American history. His leadership helped end racial segregation and discrimination in this country and provided a vision for what America could be. Dr. King’s efforts helped America become a better and more peaceful nation. The values of love, unity, and forgiveness that he preached, are some of the most important values in our society. In honor of Dr. King’s life, I encourage all West Virginians to reflect on what they can do to make a difference in their community.”
