Manchin Statement On HUD Deputy Secretary, DHS Chief Financial Officer Nominations

Washington, DC – Today U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) released the following statement on supporting Brian Montgomery to be the U.S. Deputy Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Troy Edger to be Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

“The Senate confirmed two nominations today, HUD Deputy Secretary Brian Montgomery and DHS CFO Troy Edgar. Mr. Montgomery has decades of experience in the housing sector, previously serving under a former Administration, and as Deputy Secretary will manage the day-to-day operations of HUD with understanding and knowledge. Mr. Edgar has years of financial experience and has served our nation as a Submariner in the Navy, and with his familiarity, he will manage DHS’s finances well. Both of these men are qualified for their respective roles and will use their experience and knowledge to successfully lead in their positions. I look forward to working with both of them in their roles in the Administration to ensure West Virginians receive the support and help they need.”
