Manchin Asks For WV Strong Stories During Coronavirus Pandemic

Charleston, WV – Today, U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) asked West Virginians to send him stories of their friends, family, and neighbors being WV Strong during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Those of us who were born and raised in West Virginia and those of us who have moved to West Virginia and adopted our state know how tough we are. We get through difficult times and we’ve been through a lot in our lives and we’ve seen a lot of tragedy, a lot of hardships and a lot of challenges but together we’ve always gotten through it and we’re going to get through this too. What I’m asking all of you to do right now when you’re thinking about how can I help somebody, as Abraham Lincoln said, ‘We all have better angels in us.’ This is a time to let that angel fly,” said Senator Manchin. “Share something good, something that lifts somebody up, something good you’ve seen happen, something that has happened in your family or in your life. So I’m asking you to share that with us at WVSTRONG@manchin.senate.gov. No matter what the next days or weeks bring, it is vital that we not only stay the tight-knit community we've always been, but that we're smart about it and we do it safely. I know we'll get through this challenge together and I stand ready to help in any way I can. Stay WV Strong.”

Senator Manchin will share stories of West Virginia’s “better angels” who are showing what it means to be WV Strong in his daily coronavirus E-newsletter and on his coronavirus information resources webpage.
