Manchin: 93,331 Overdose Deaths Last Year Show Need For Action Now

Washington, DC - Today, U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) called for action to address the drastic increase in overdose deaths in the last year. In 2020, 93,331 Americans died from drug overdoses, a nearly 30% increase from the 70,980 overdose deaths in 2019. 1,377 West Virginians died from drug related overdoses in 2020, a 49.3% increase from 2019.
